I WILL WALK IN Freedom

FOR I HAVE SOUGHT

OUT YOUR PRECEPTS.

PSALM 119:45, NIV

 Enjoy your freedom!

Because many Americans have never known other circumstances, it's easy to take our liberties for granted. The Israelites knew firsthand the oppression of slavery. Yet when God finally led them out of Egypt, they had problems adjusting to their newfound freedom. Fearful and rebellious, the Israelites grumbled against their leaders, Moses and Aaron, saying they would've been better off as slaves in Egypt.
Our freedom as Christians cost Jesus his life. But we, too, often find it easier to fall back into sinful habits. In Galatians 5: 1, Paul offers this encouragement: "For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery" (NRSV).
We're no longer bound by sin and death. That "independence" is worth celebrating every day!

New Program At SOTH
By Administrator Account - Friday, February 22, 2008 :: 234 Views ::

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Something new at Shepherd of the Hills! We are beginning a new program to match new members of our flock with "seasoned" members, to help new members make friends and acquaintances. The program will assist new members in becoming acquainted with activities and services within the church that are of interest to them.
If you would be willing to spend a little time getting to know a new member, or if you are a new member and would like to match up with an existing member, or have any questions, please contact the church office, DJ Kuhlmann, Joan Marx or Dawn Jaehnke.

VBS is just around the corner...

Please mark your calendars and help create a special time for many children. It will all be happening August 3rd - 7th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. We will be serving a meal for the families and our VBS Volunteers.

There are many ways to help share a wonderful experience for our children. We are still looking for Leaders and many helpers in order to make this happen. If you want to help in other areas, but find your time is limited, we are also looking for food donations. These are the following items that will be needed: hamburger buns, hotdog buns, bread, canned baked beans, bags of carrots or celery, sliced turkey or ham, Tang mix, lemonade, Kool-aid, mayonnaise, homemade desserts, vanilla or chocolate pudding mixes, bags of chips, peanut butter, jellies, cream of mushrooms soups, grapes, oranges, apples, cheeses that can be sliced, milk, pickles, fruit cocktail and ranch dressing. If you are able to help in this area please contact Diane Bierce at 792-1555 or padedia@yahoo.com.

A thought to remember: Some days we plod through life, one slow step at a time, our eyes on the ground ahead. We're so preoccupied with our busy routines that we forget to look up at the sky. And we've totally forgotten that God gave our hearts wings to fly. So, spread your wings and trust in the Lord.

LIFE IS A JOURNEY. ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND ENJOY THE BREEZE!

Greeters
By Administrator Account - Friday, May 02, 2008 :: 136 Views ::
Greeters.  The Elders have received a number of suggestions lately about the importance of having greeters to welcome those attending our worship services. Since an Elder is assigned to oversee each of the worship services, they felt they could assume this responsibility, along with assistance from their spouse. If the Elder is not able or wishes otherwise, he could find other volunteers to assume this role. Thank you for the great suggestion.
