The BloodCenter of Wisconsin, founded in 1947, is a Wisconsin non-profit organization that supplies all the blood to over 50 hospitals in Wisconsin, including Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse, Franciscan Skemp hospitals in La Crosse, Sparta and Arcadia, Tomah Memorial, Vernon Memorial in Viroqua, St. Joseph’s Community Health Services in Hillsboro and Richland Hospital in Richland Center.
The BloodCenter of Wisconsin collects and performs numerous tests on each donation in order to provide a safe supply of blood to our community hospitals.
Scientists at the BloodCenter conduct diagnostic tests on blood so that physicians can identify illnesses and prescribe the best course of treatment.
Physicians at the BloodCenter provide direct medical care and treatment to those needing specific transfusion services.
Researchers at the BloodCenter study the role of blood components in disease and advance cures so that new tests and treatments can benefit patients as quickly as possible.
